Champagne Flutes & Cowboy Boots!
What’s your idea of the perfect date? Candlelight and wine
in an elegant restaurant with a sauve and sexy man? Or an outdoor barbecue and
a beer with a rough and ready cowboy? Today we have the best of both worlds for
you. Margo Hoornstra brings you her
hero, Jonah Colt, a military veteran turned judge, while I'm sharing my cowboy hero, Cole Matheson.
Asking For Trouble by Jannine
Gallant
Asking For Trouble is Free February 18-22 Only! Click HERE.
Daycare owner, Miranda O’Neill isn’t
looking for a miracle. But that’s what it’ll take to convince Cole Matheson the
American Dream isn’t a trap designed to suck the life out of a man. She wants a
house with a white picket fence and babies of her own. He’s perfectly content
claiming his aging hound as his only dependent. Six months before, they’d
admitted love wasn’t enough and parted ways. But when Cole finds himself in
charge of his nephew for the ten longest days of his life, he asks Miranda to put
aside her heartache to jump into the fray. Will a demon in a diaper bring them
together—or tear them apart forever?
“So,
how was your day?”
Miranda
turned away from the sun sinking below the horizon in a burst of gold and
crimson, and regarded him with a sober expression. Taking the beer he offered,
she nodded her thanks. “Pretty typical. One skinned knee, two leaking diapers,
and twelve finger-painted masterpieces. And I did call the local paper about
placing an ad for a new employee.”
“That’s
good.” He took a swallow of beer and eyed her steadily. “What’s bugging you,
then, besides the fact I left you stranded with Jackson ?”
“I
was a little pissed, but I’m over it. What I’m not over is this.” She spread
her arms wide. “You and me, hanging out like an old married couple discussing
our day.” She placed her beer on the table then pressed a hand to her breasts.
“It isn’t helping, Cole. It’s making me want something I can’t have.”
He
reared back. “I want it, too.”
“No,
you only want part of it.” She
pointed at Jackson who’d crawled into the grass to sit near Tucker. The boy
threw dandelions into the air and giggled when they showered down on the dog.
Miranda’s eyes clouded. “I want it all.”
“Maybe…”
“No
maybe.” Swinging around, she crossed the patio. “I’ll go make a salad, and we
won’t talk about this again.”
Cole
stared after her departing back, and to his amazement, tears burned his eyes.
He loved Miranda with an intensity that shook him to his soul. But was it
enough to forgo his freedom?
Only If You Dare by Margo
Hoornstra
All the pleasures and none of the pain, that’s
what Cynthia Buckingham wants in a relationship these days. A one-night stand
with Jonah Colt seems to fit that bill perfectly. Besides, her true passion is
helping victims of PTSD reclaim their lives. Waking up after spending the night
with a woman he barely knows, Jonah is stunned to realize sex for the sake of
sex isn’t enough for him anymore. All he wants is to put the ravages of a
military past behind him to focus on a peaceful civilian life. Will he allow
himself to accept Cynthia’s help—and win her love?
From the very beginning, Jonah made the evening
perfect. Taking them around to her side of the car, getting her safely settled
and shut inside before he took his place behind the wheel. Then reversed the
process after they arrived at Cornell’s, a high priced seafood restaurant, with
the very best shrimp cocktail ever created.
“My favorite place. But how did you know?”
He paused to take her hand as they approached the
entrance. “Let’s just say I used my powers of observation.”
Their evening together was wonderful to say the
least. So why did an unusual sense of regret slide through her every time she
and Jonah took a short break from laughing?
Because their time together like this, like a
normal, happy couple who enjoyed each other’s company—outside the bedroom as
well as in—would soon end?
Then what?
Had she so diverted from the no strings and no commitments
plan she had laid out for the rest of her life? Who knew if she had the ability
to pull it off?
If she concentrated hard enough, she could see them
going on this way for years. When she allowed herself to imagine the two of
them together beyond the one night stand that had drifted on for the better
part of a few weeks now. Truth was, she could see them together, but not too
clearly.
Life’s simple pleasures. That’s what she intended
to share with Jonah Colt. Life’s simple pleasures. And none of its pain.
Margo
Hoornstra hails from the Midwest, land of the—this year at least—never ending
snow storms. It’s beautiful to look at but has put a crimp in her second love
besides writing, long walks outdoors. Here’s where you can find out more about
Margo:
I live in beautiful Lake Tahoe where I enjoy hiking and snowshoeing in the woods around my home. My stories are set
in small towns and reflect the beauty of nature. Here’s where you can find out

If You Don't Believe Me - Get Them For Free And Decide For Yourself!
If you haven't downloaded your free copies of the Class of '85 books yet, here's what I thought about them. Yes, I've read every book in the series. Who doesn't like a reunion story?
Something More by Keena Kincaid
Ms. Kincaid has given us Something More to think about with a cast of complex characters struggling to work through their problems in search of a happy ending. Nick and Nora's story of overcoming adversity is a wonderful addition to the Class of '85 series.
Promises, Promises by Silver James
Kelly Kincaid has been kicked to the curb by her rat of an ex-husband. Michael Doogan wants nothing more than to help the woman he's always had a thing for get back on her feet. Will Kelly's pride stand in their way?
This is a wonderful feel-good story guaranteed to put a smile on your face!
Embraceable You by Kat Henry Doran
Kat Henry Doran has written a fast paced tale of two people coming together in a single evening, and finding their lives changed forever. Rarely have two characters deserved their happily ever after more than Dru and Rory. Embraceable You is a keeper!
To Be, Or Not by Margo Hoornstra
Will Amanda and Barry find love the second time around? I was cheering them on from the first chapter to the last in this feel good novel about second chances. If you're a fan of this series, you'll recognize a few characters who have turned up before. Kudos, Ms. Hoornstra, for a job well done!
Lonely Road To You by Jannine Gallant
What if, at a time and place when you least expect it, a second chance at love and happiness comes your way? Newly divorced and soon to be empty nester, Kate Abbott ponders those possibilities as her twenty-fifth high school reunion draws near. Tyler North was the former crush she never imagined would give the shy student she was the time of day. Especially since he went on to become a rich and famous sought after singer. Turns out the woman she's become has a lot to offer the man who supposedly has it all. A conclusion he reaches as they share friendship and eventually love on a cross country trip to the reunion in Summerville, New York. Author Jannine Gallant has done an excellent job in bringing her readers along for an enjoyable ride.
Reviewed by Margo Hoornstra on Amazon and used with her permission.
So there you have it. Five, really fun stories you won't want to miss. Today's the last day to get each one free on Amazon. Just click on the book title for the link.

Valentine’s Day Reunion (and free books!)
Happy Valentine's Day! What's better than receiving a new romance novella to read? Getting FIVE novellas free! We have a special gift for each and every one of you--either to keep for yourselves or give to someone who loves reading romances like these. The authors listed here are offering free books all about reunited lovers, second chances at love, and the mayhem that happens at a 25 year class reunion. Five of us with multiple books in the series decided these stories deserved a second chance and a reunion of their own…
From Margo Hoornstra's book, TO BE, OR NOT, an overview of the characters' home town.
Summerville, New York hadn’t changed much in the twenty-odd years Barry Carlson was away. Located on the southern shore of Lake Ontario between Buffalo and Rochester, the town boasted a state of the art hospital, two family-owned industries and a medium-sized university. In addition to the various activities associated with a large body of water, several widely acclaimed arts and crafts festivals attracted thousands of tourists from early Spring through late Fall—all accommodated by several chain restaurants and hotels, smaller bed and breakfasts, gift shops and boutiques.
Here are some snippets to whet your appetite, plus the Amazon links where you can go to get your free download today and tomorrow only of these outstanding novellas! Just click on the titles. And remember, while these stories are sweet, they are calorie free!

As scandals of the past and present close in on Barry and Amanda, does their second shot at happiness stand a chance?
Snippet:
Head twisted over one shoulder; she slowly swung the rest of her body around. All the while staring into crystal blue eyes.
Mouth open, apparently as stunned and speechless as she was, Barry’s expression softened immediately. And made her believe he was actually pleased to see her again.

When polar opposites, Kate and Tyler collide, a cross-country journey leads to adventure…and romance.
Snippet:
Kate stared at him. Dark hair plastered to his scalp and the side of his face. His nose was straight, his jaw strong, and his lips an unsmiling tight line. Dark blue eyes stared back at her from a deeply tanned face. Her heart nearly stopped.
“Tyler North,” she whispered.
He sighed. “Not much point in denying it. Look, can we get out of here before I start signing autographs?”

Kat Henry Doran ~ EMBRACEABLE YOU
Dru is forced to endure a return to 'The Village of the Damned'. Except with Rory at her side, damned doesn't feel so bad.
Snippet:
Leaning forward, he brought them nose to nose. “You've got something else stashed in that tote. Give it up.”
Clutching the canvas bag to her chest, she sneered, “If you think I’ll parade around naked in front of you, one of us is a couple fries short of a happy meal.”
He made a gimme motion with those thick, blunt fingers. “I'll close my eyes if I encounter any lacy unmentionables.” The instant the screw-you look morphed into a smirk she knew he’d found the back-up cell phone. “It's not wise to mess with Homeland Security, sweetie. Those guys eat small animals for breakfast.”

Keena Kincaid ~ SOMETHING MORE
Nora is a complication that Nick doesn't need--but it's one that he wants.
Snippet:
Nora was either spinning or falling. Perhaps both. His mouth brushed hers again. The heat and taste of peat from the Scotch lingered on her lips as Nick placed a series of soft kisses along her jaw, her chin. He nipped her lower lip and pressed her against the rail, a gentle movement that knocked the air from her chest with the promise of what was to come.
“Are you certain?”
Pulling back, she studied him, trying to decipher the flicker of doubt on his face. “Who would’ve thought the wild boy of Summerville High would grow up to be so staid?”
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Silver James - PROMISES PROMISES
Betrayed by her ex-husband, Kelly stubbornly insists on going it alone. Can Michael win her heart before she gives up on love?
Snippet:
“Ready for another piece?” Michael used another paper towel to gather up a second slice, only this time he held it out for her to take a bite. His eyes dared Kelly to play along even as his mouth teased her with full lips and a little smirk.
She raised her chin in challenge. “You lookin’ for a piece of me, hot stuff?”
“Oh, I want more than a piece, sweetheart. I want all of you.”
♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Please give the Class of '85 a taste. There are a lot more where these five came from! These are just the champagne to go with the chocolate. And please come back tomorrow for my reviews of each of these books. Hope to see you then!

Blog Awards Abound!
I am the honored recipient of the prestigious Irresistibly Sweet Blog Award, presented to me by Sharon Buchbinder, a terrific writer and all around swell person. All the dessert recipes I've posted on my blog may have something to do with earning this distinction. LOL
Receiving this award means sharing 7 random fact about me, so here goes.
1) I grew up in a town of 400 people and went to a 2 room school house. K-4 in one room and 5-8 in the other. Yes, small town schools still exist!
2) I live in Lake Tahoe, but I don't like to ski. I'd rather snowshoe with my dog.
3) My favorite National Park is Yosemite. When I camp - I do it in a tent!
4) I can't write unless the house is quiet. But I can edit when it's noisy.
5) I love the smell of dirt after it rains, and trees, white and glistening with fresh snow, beneath a cold cerulean sky.
6) I've never found a recipe I didn't feel the need to change at least a little.
7) My dog is so spoiled, I'll sit on the carpet rather than kick her off the couch!
Now that you all know how strange I am, I'm giving the award to these 10 stellar bloggers. Ladies, it's time to reveal 7 facts about yourselves and pass the sweetness.
Rachel Brimble
Kat Henry Doran
Jerri Hines
Brenda Whiteside
Margo Hoornstra
Jana Richards
Alyson Reuben
Silver James
Barbara Edwards
Laura Breck
I would also like to thank my good friend, Margo Hoornstra, for honoring me with the Liebster Award. This award is for a stick-to-it attitude, and while I'm only supposed to give it to 5 bloggers, all the above ladies have the perseverance to deserve this one, too!
